Recipe of Goan Shirmp Curry

  • 600 gm Shrimp(any size)
  • 1 cup Fresh Coconut grated
  • 1 Big Onion chopped
  • 2 Green Chillies
  • 1 tsp Cumin
  • 2-3 Red chillies
  • Salt according to taste 
  • 1 tsp Coriander Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Whole Gram Masala
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric
  • 2 Tomatoes chopped
  • 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1/4 tsp mustard seed
  1. Clean and wash the prawns.
  2. Soak red chillies and cumin in vinegar and Luke warm water.
  3. Then in a blender add red chillies( with vinegar), cumin, grated coconut, mustard seeds and chopped tomatoes.
  4. Make a fine paste of this mixture
  5. Then add 3-4 shrimps in the blender and blend it again.
  6. Heat oil in pan and add gram masala into it.
  7. Then add finely chopped onion into the pan. Saute them for 2-3 minutes.
  8. Add turmeric powder and ginger garlic paste and saute this again for 2-3 minutes.
  9. Then add blender mixture into the pan.
  10. put coriander powder, salt and gram masala. Saute this on medium flame till oil separate from the mixture.
  11. Then add some water and mix this on medium flame
  12. Now the gravy is pretty much ready.
  13. Add shrimp into the gravy and cook this for 7-8 minutes.
  14. Garnish this with fresh chopped coriander
  15. Serve this hot with rice or bread of your own choice.
