Recipe of Potato Samosa(Indian Patties)

Serves 3-4
Ingredients for Samosa
  • 250gm(2 1/2 cup) All purpose flour(maida)
  • 60 gm (1/4 cup) oil or ghee
  • salt according to taste
Ingredients for Filling
  • 3-4 mashed boiled potato
  • 1/2 cup boiled green peas
  • 1/2 cup cashews
  • 2-3 chopped green chilies
  • 1/2 cup chopped fresh coriander
  • 1 inch piece chopped ginger
  • 1/4 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/4 tsp mango powder
  • salt according to taste
  • oil for frying
  1. Mix flour, salt and oil. Add water little by little, form tight dough and keep aside. 
  2. Mix all the stuffing ingredients together in a bowl
  3. Take a lime sized ball of dough and roll out in a circle of about 6″ diameter on a rolling board using a rolling pin
  4. Cut the round into half, now make a cone shape with this half and stick the outer part with little bit of water on your finger each half makes one Samosa.
  5. Add a big tablespoonful of the stuffing on one piece, fold into a triangle, holding the stuffing in carefully. Press the edges together to seal.
  6. Form all the Samosas in the same way
  7. Heat oil for frying and keep it on medium heat
  8. Add the Samosas into the hot oil and fry on both sides till they are golden brown
  9. Remove and drain well
